We’re a registered nonprofit committed to the care, rehabilitation, and education of horses and riders. Every donation helps provide feed, veterinary care, safe tack, and riding lessons for people of all ages and abilities.

    If you need a receipt for tax purposes, we’ll provide an official donation acknowledgment showing the amount and date of your gift. Please keep that receipt with your tax records. If your donation is in-kind (goods or services) rather than cash, consult your tax advisor for valuation guidance.

  • At Sam and Socks Riding School & Sanctuary, every payment you make supports our mission. Whether you donate cash, sign up for riding lessons, enroll a child in camp, or attend a fundraiser, 100% of the proceeds are directed to:

    • Veterinary care and medication for rescued horses and sanctuary animals

    • Daily feed, bedding, and pasture upkeep

    • Rehabilitation and training programs that prepare animals for adoption or improved quality of life

    • Educational programs and scholarships for riders from underserved communities

    • Facility maintenance and safety improvements so we can continue offering programs

    How contributions work

    • Cash donations: Fully allocated to sanctuary needs and programs.

    • Lesson fees: All revenue from private and group lessons goes into the fund that covers animal care and program expenses.

    • Camps: Enrollment fees support camp programming, supplies, staffing, and animal welfare.

    • Special events: Ticket sales, raffles, and vendor proceeds are donated to sanctuary operations and charitable initiatives.

    Transparency and accountability We keep detailed records of income and spending and provide summaries to our community so you can see how donations help. If you’d like a report on how funds from a specific event or program were used, contact us and we’ll share the information.

  • Yes — you can donate in honor of someone or in memory of someone. You can also give in support of a particular horse or make a gift in memory of a horse who meant a lot to you.

    Ways to dedicate your gift

    • Honor a person: Celebrate a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or special achievement with a donation made in their name. We’ll notify the honoree (or the honoree’s family) if you’d like.

    • Remember a loved one: Make a memorial gift to honor someone who’s passed. We can provide a tasteful acknowledgment to the family or next of kin.

    • Support a specific horse: Choose a horse at our sanctuary to receive your donation. Your support goes directly toward that horse’s care—feed, shelter, farrier and veterinary needs, and enrichment.

    • Memorialize a horse: Make a tribute gift in memory of a beloved horse. We’ll recognize the memorial and ensure your gift benefits the ongoing care of our animals.

    What we provide

    • A personalized acknowledgment for the honoree or the family (sent by mail or email, per your preference).

    • The option to include a short dedication message that we’ll include in the acknowledgment.

    • Clear designation of funds so your gift supports the horse or program you choose.
